The Craft Beverage Education Association (CBEA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping members from the wine, beer, spirits, cider, and mead industries navigate the business of craft and artisanal beverage post-production. We believe that this “horizontal” model of learning — spanning all craft beverage segments — leads to enhanced discussion and superior execution of business plans. In the spirit of CRAFT itself, collaboration yields a better product. We don’t intend to lobby, define, or otherwise politicize. Instead, we want to create an environment that supports CRAFT by helping our members understand the sales, marketing, business development, regulatory, and distribution issues that often hinder a small craft producer. From new craft businesses to established productions, CBEA is your source for education and collaboration.

Executive Director: Kellie Shevlin earned her Certification in Event Management (CEM) designation in 2007, was featured by Exhibit City News on its “40 under 40” list, and holds wine certifications for the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) and the Society of Wine Educators Certified Scholar of Wine (CSW). Having spent a year researching the artisan beverage market and getting counsel from industry leaders, she identified a void in the space and found a need to service the small-batch producing segment specifically, and more importantly, the need for a post-production focus to improve businesses of artisan beverage companies nationally.
Show Producer: VP International (VPI) is an event management firm that produces events and works with clients to elevate their events to the next level. VPI specializes in the custom development of cost effective solutions in the following event areas: trade shows, conferences, global congresses, exhibitions, user groups, product launches, advisory boards, educational symposiums and public events.
Conference Director: Michele Nebel Peake is President of Ashton Conference Planning Professionals, LLC, an events and education design firm which has successfully executed meetings, conferences and educational programs for corporate and association groups of 10 to 25,000 people. Michele excels at guiding conference committees and multidisciplinary teams to realize the client’s needs and offering strategies to successfully achieve goals. By identifying learning objectives for each client, she builds educational programs for the adult learning environment and helps presenters understand and adapt content for adult motivation and learning theory. Michele is a member of both the Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) and Meeting Professionals International (MPI).
