Mecaela is planner, traveler, sommelier, writer, cocktail enthusiast, former chef and graduate of the Cal Poly Wine and Viticulture program. When it comes to things that taste good in your mouth she is a total know it all – but will rarely make you feel that way. Born with tremendous communication and organizational skills Mecaela facilitates production and operations for the Napa Valley Film Festival, BottleRock Napa Valley, and several organizations throughout Wine Country.
Her company, The Rooted Fork, was formed with the idea of creating events that are “rooted” within the community. Whether it focuses on helping a local non-profit organization, or showcasing and utilizing local resources, the idea is to root these events with the common goal of helping to grow and better the surrounding community.
With a penchant for correctness and the skill set to back it up, Mecaela careens through any kitchen, wine list, and cocktail lounge with ease. Residing in Napa Valley, she seeks out new happy hours, creative marketing trends, and the next great brunch. She thrives mainly on a diet of mushrooms, aged cheeses, coffee and Rhone varietal wines. Do not ever recommend Starbucks if you want to live!
