Chris Webber
Chris is a relative newcomer to the craft beverage industry. Starting as a hobby winemaker in 2006 he subsequently discovered Mead in 2008. In May 2012 he founded the American Mead Makers Association (AMMA) with the primary mission of addressing serious inconsistencies in labeling and formula rules. Webber helped in the development of the first of its kind Mead Makers Short Course at UC Davis presented in February 2014 and again in November that same year. He is also a regular contributor to the American Mead Maker Journal and has been quoted in the Detroit Free Press, The Baltimore Sun, San Francisco Chronicle, and countless journals through PR Newswire.
For the last couple of years Chris has been working on his Associates Degree in Winemaking through the Northwest Wine Academy at South Seattle Community College and in 2014 he turned his garage into a winery and took his hobby commercial.
Through his 35 years of military service he has gained an extensive background in logistics and is a Certified Hazmat Shipper. Chris serves on the Citizens Transportation Advisory Committee for the City of Lakewood, Washington. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary and a local public hospital district and has experience in sales and marketing and business management.
