Carole Lawson
Carole is one of the founding partners, Chief Data Officer and lead data scientist for Creekstone Creative; an AI company working in the advertising space. She spent decades in technology leadership with roles such as: Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the California Public Utilities Commission and the Director of eServices (all things CA.gov) for Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. She led Governor Schwarzenegger’s Innovation Council where she worked with technology start-ups in the Silicon Valley like Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and others helping them integrate the concepts of custom experiences, open government, and social media, all of which were groundbreaking at the time, into government service delivery. The phrase “Government 2.0” coined in 2007 was framed largely around her work and became the cornerstone of government transformation from that time forward, which is now a global standard.
Carole is also a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers (2015), completed her master’s work in Marketing Management with and emphasis in data and analytics at Harvard University (2016), in addition to holding several other degrees and professional certifications. She is also the founder and CEO of the Craft Wine Association.
